Guppy holds the scanner over Nerdanel.

"She's stable but weak. This isn't picking up any reason why she's unconscious. I know she was exhausted but..." he shakes his head.

He really wishes Hank was here. But he's not right now, so he's just going to have to manage.

"She said she was thirsty so I'm going to give her some fluids." he says, keeping up the commentary for the benefit of the others.

"Do you think she can drink in her state?" Asar-Suti said, after he'd helped put her on the bed.

"There is something called an infusion," Maglor asnwered; he knew about Earth medicine. At least more than Asar-Suti did. "Anything we can do to help, or should my purple friend and I just get out of the way?"

"I'd appreciate it if you could hang around a few minutes. I'll do my best but if things go pear shaped I'll need one of you to try and find Hank."

He gets a line in and sets up a drip.

"Maglor, do you know if anything like this has happened to her before? Any family history of birth problems?"

"The birth of the twins wasn't all that easy," Maglor said, "but this is new. My father's mother lost her life delivering him, the only elf ever to do so, but that is something different altogether - my mother or Feahelce aren't even related to her."

Asar-Suti stationed himself by the door, ready to start running if necessary.

Guppy nods, taking that all in.

"What about the Vala side of this? Is there any precedent of an elf mother giving birth to half-elf, half-vala?"

"Never," Maglor said.

"Luthien Tinuviel is the daughter of an elf father and a maia mother, that is, a lesser Power; but maiar aren't that powerful, and it was the other way around," Asar-Suti supplied; he'd read his Silmarillion thoroughly as well.

Guppy nods.

"Okay, I don't think there's much more we can do right now. I'll try and get hold of Hank at some point and see what he thinks, but for now, she's stable, which is something. I'll try and keep her that way whilst we work out what to do."

He nods. "You two did well. I can take it from here if you want to spend time with Feaho."

"Okay," Asar-Suti said. "I think I'll leave Feaho to Gorlim and Námo at first, but I'll go and find Gil in the kitchen; he'd whispered to me he'd go and wash up as we left Nerdanel's room."

Maglor went and looked down at his mother, then bent to kiss her brow. "In human medicine, people sometimes give blood? If anybody needs to give blood for her, it should be me; find me fom anywhere should that be necessary," he said.

Then, he swallowed, and followed Asar-Suti out.

Guppy nods. "Thank you. I don't think she needs blood at the moment, but I'll remember that."

He stays by her for quite some time, doing tests, trying to work out what's wrong. Eventually he decides he will have to wait for Hank's opinion, and settles to sleep on the couch in the office in case she wakes. The moniters will alert him if her condition changes.
